JT To Jets? Not So Fast

There have been rumors surrounding Jason Taylor’s visit to New York with the Jets abounding today.

I would like to say, it is most likely a negotiating ploy to get the Dolphins to offer Taylor a contract.

Nevertheless, Taylor will finish up his visit with the Jets, and make a decision on whether he wants to play for his long time rival over the weekend, or wait it out, and see if the Dolphins make him an offer or not.

But, here is an interesting piece of information that might ease the pain of this visit to New York:

“I pushed him up there,” Wichard just told me. “I twisted his arm. He loves the fans in Miami and he gave up $8 million last year to play in front of fans. I am the one to push him to go up there because I don’t know what will be available to on April 23 or 25th or whatever.”

The quote was from Gary Wichard, Taylor’s agent, and was told to Miami Herald’s own, Armando Salguero.

From the quote above, it sounds to me as if JT does not really want to leave Miami, and was forced up there for not only leverage, but also as a last resort so Taylor can actually have a job come next season, no matter if it is with the Jets, or not.

  1. Recent reports says he will decide by the weekend.
I guess they really gave him the red carpet.
Some of the stuff he has said in the past does not favor the Jets. I hope we keep him around, at least he goes to the NFC>

  2. Looks like we play JT twice a year
