Dolphins Quick Quotes

Over the past weekend there has been some players that have been saying some newsworthy stuff. So why not bring it all together in one post and save you some time!

  • Zach Thomas said that he would “love to” come back for the Dolphins for a day to finally retire from his long and illustrious career in the NFL. ” I’m a Dolphin for life” Thomas said. It would be nice if the Trifecta were to do this for Zach, sign him to a one day contract, and show the current players that the front office does indeed care about them.
  • While there was the feel good news on Zach Thomas above, Will Allen is now making headlines for these quotes: ” I’m starting, Allen said to the Miami Herald, “You can put that wherever you want, I’ve started every year. I do not expect that to change now.” We’ll see how that works out for Will, as that would mean Coach Sparano would have to pick from his top playmaker on defense (Vontae Davis), and his top shutdown corner (Sean Smith). Sorry Will, but I think you might have to take a back seat to two sophomore studs.

While there is only really a couple of quotes from two different guys, they really stand tall as some big time quotes.

Zach wants to come back to retire as a Dolphin, and Will Allen says that he is going to start next year!

While one of those is rather heartwarming, the other is kind of disturbing.

I have been wanting the Trifecta to sign Thomas to a one day contract so he could retire for months now.

I have also wanted the Dolphins to use Allen as trade bait. Maybe we could garner a couple extra draft picks from Allen, and with Allen coming out to the public with his suggestions on who will start this year, it seems like the Dolphins may feel more inclined to rid themselves of Allen, who is nothing more than depth at this point.

Simply benching either Davis or Smith would hinder the development process, and the Trifecta certainly does not want that. Allen will either have to accept the fact that he will be the 3rd cornerback on the team, or be traded or released.

It looks like the ball is in Allen’s court on what he will decide.
