Super Bowl Preview

Today’s the big day! Peyton Manning and the Colts are ready to take on Drew Brees and the Saints at Sun Life Stadium, home of your Miami Dolphins.

Personally, I think this is going to be a great game. Both teams are very similar; Great QB’s, sub-par running game, and lackluster defenses. This makes for a very exciting and high scoring game.

How the Colts win: Injuries have plagued the Colts all week. Dwight Freeny, there dominant pass rusher, is still unsure of weather he will play or not. Reggie Wayne also left practice early on Friday, after aggravating a leg injury. If either of these guys don’t play, it would hurt the  Colts in a big way. However, Peyton Manning is healthy, and that could be enough to win. I could be a receiver on the Colts, and he would make me look good. No matter what the circumstance is, he will hit the open recover, whether it’s Dallas Clark, Austin Collie, or Pierre Garcon. However, Drew Brees is a pretty good QB as well. The Colt’s Defense is going to need to make some stops. There D is slightly better than the Saints, and that could be the difference in this game.

How the Saints win: STOP PEYTON MANNING!!! If they stop, or at least slow down Manning, they win the game. However, that’s often easier said then done, so they should look for some other ways to win. Drew Brees runs a very efficient offense. If they could get out to an early lead, that would certainly give them a boost, but it wouldn’t necessarily be enough to win. We saw what happened to the Jets; they took an early lead, and then Manning wound up scoring at will in the second half. So, basically they need to slow down Manning enough so that he doesn’t score on every drive. Next, they need to score a lot early, but continue to add on throughout the second half. If they can manage to do all of this, then I think the have a serious chance of winning.
