Lousaka Doesn’t Make The Cut: Not Repping At Pro-Bowl

Despite much encouragement, and much voting on some Miami Dolphins fans parts, Dolphins starting fulback Lousaka Polite was not voted into the Pro-Bowl by the fans.

That feat went to Le’Ron McClain, of the Baltimore Ravens.

I have a couple problems with this.

First and foremost, is McClain really a true fullback? No, I think Lou has him there, and Lousaka is ranked by some experts as the best fullback in the game as of now based on all sorts of statistics.

Polite can pancake a blitzing linebacker like no other fullback in the game.

Oh, and did I mention that Lousaka is the Dolphins guy for short yardage conversions?

Over the past two years, Lou has converted 26-26 on 3rd and short, and 4th and short plays in his tenure as a Miami Dolphin.

Sure, McClain may have had a good year, but is he really the best fullback out there? I think not!

This award goes to Polite, who at times, you could argue has carried this Dolphins team in terms of momentum shifting plays.

Polite is the sole reason why the Dolphins are the best in the league on 3rd downs, and he is a contributing factor to the reason Chad Henne is not dinged up right now.

Polite can flat out play, and him not getting elected to the Pro-bowl is shameful. Sure, we the Dolphins fans did our part and voted for our man, but the truth about the Pro-Bowl, and any All-Star game for that matter, is that it’s just a popularity contest, and the players that are actually have a Pro-Bowl season miss out because their names do not pop up on ESPN everyday.

Hopefully the coaches and the players will vote for Lou to take McClain’s place for the Pro-Bowl, but I’m not counting on it.

Maybe next year Lou!

One Response

  1. This is a joke.

McClain’s not even a fullback, and he had a bad year, regardless.

Lousaka did great for us, and should be there.
